With the recent early season dumps of snow, the hills are caked in the white stuff! After a recent skin around Snow Farm I thought I'd call around and see who was keen to head over the hill to Coronet Peak, Queenstown. Supposedly 30cm of fresh snow had fallen on Coronet Peak so Andy and I excitedly packed our gear and drove over. Think it was a classic case of Kiwi enthusiasm or just snow-forecast getting it wrong, but what greeted us wasn't 30cm! We'll go with 3cm. Ok 3mm. Undeterred we slapped on our skins, released our heels and set off. After dodging the spray of snow cannons and piste bashers, we found some good pockets of snow in the gullies and continued to lap these. A fun morning capped off with a banging pie in the Arrowtown Bakery!
